We run Little India Veggie Collection (LIVC) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
We approach a few shopkeepers in Little India and ask them for their unsellable vegetables that would otherwise be thrown away. All collected food produce and product cannot be sold or unconverted for profit in any form. They are instead distributed among our Food Rescuers for their own consumption and also donated to soup kitchens, community fridges or community food sharing points.
Collections start at 9.00pm and end at 10.30pm. To register for a collection, please sign up here. Please note that you will be added to our community chat on WhatsApp as part of your rescue journey.
We are also constantly looking for volunteer drivers who are able to provide transport help to sent excess collection to community fridges or food sharing points. Volunteer drivers also help us when we receive ad hoc rescue calls from vendors at timings outside of our regular collections. To be a volunteer driver, please drop us a message at livc.volunteers(at)gmail.com
